A classic World War II trainer, the T-6 Texan was utilized for training military
pilots around the world for over 50 years. This articular plane displays the marking
of the South African Air Force which used these planes from 1942 to 1995.
This painting was commissioned by Dr. “Mike” Siiberstein in what started out as a
call concerning an increase in his insurance rates. I was the underwriter for his
account at the time, took the call and before long we were talking about his airplane
7721 and we ended the call making arrangements for me to do this painting.
